17th March 2024:

Caroline has made the farm feel like a home rather than B and B. Very warm and cosy. And Charles serves a tasty breakfast - a favourite was boiled egg with his home-baked toasted dippy soldiers. The location is perfect … away from the crowds but easily accessible to Penzance and Newlyn School of Art.

Tips:

The Victoria Inn served a delicious potted scrimp and had a lovely fire going so worth a walk up the road. And of course Argoe Seafood restaurant in Newlyn is a must.

4th November 2023:

Christine and Charles are delightful hosts. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and memorable during a very wet November stay. We really appreciated the tea and minced pies upon our arrival. The atmosphere of the old house and garden is welcoming and cosy. Roses in our room and candles made the stay quite unique. The breakfast was delicious and home made. Charles’ eggs were excellent ! The garden is lovely with lots of sub tropical species and a view of Saint Michael’s mount.

Tips:

The walk from Ednovean Farm to St Michael’s mount is well worth it- great views and not very difficult. The Victoria Inn is great for a bite to eat - the mains are well presented with good flavour. We loved the local cheese plate however the chocolate dessert was disappointing. Staff are lovely.

A gem of a place to stay with super accommodation, magnificent coastal views and gardens plus most welcoming hosts. The location was perfect with easy access to costal path and restaurants in the village. We would highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast and hope to have another stay in the future.

Tips:

The Cabin Beach cafe in Perranuthnoe has a fantastic menu and take away. They now serve a scrumptious Sunday roast which is great value. Staff very friendly and excellent service.

Christine and Charles have always been most welcoming and provide an extremely comfortable stay, which is why we have returned to stay at Ednovean on numerous occasions

Tips:

The Cabin at Perranuthnoe has now morphed into the Tipsy Crab on several evenings and is well worth a visit. Otherwise, for good food and a great view the Shutters Restaurant at the Godolphin in Marazion is excellent. There are so many wonderful places to explore on the Lizard and West Penwith peninsulas that once you have experienced them they will draw you back.

ideal location to visit the lizard peninsula and the land’s end.some lovely nearby coastal villages.probably some great places to have fresh fish.as we are vegetarians, there was a bit of a struggle to get decent veg dishes in nearby locations.

Fabulous views of st Michael's Mount from the bottom of the prettiest, magical, semi tropical garden I have ever had the pleasure to be in. The service we received at Ednovean Farm lived up to it's 5 stars. Bedroom and breakfast room were just beautiful, cosy and twee. So much attention to detail. Boiled eggs cooked by Charles were spot on every morning!! Cannot fault this place at all, just loved it!

Tips:

Take the coast path to prussia Cove from Perranuthnoe village past Cudden Point, breathtaking. The Mexico Inn serve up a mean whitebait. Buy a Phelps cornish pasty in Marazion and sit and watch the path to St Michael's Mount appear/disappear with the tide. Watch the sunset over the mount and on a clear night do some star gazing, so many shooting stars!

Tips:

We greatly enjoyed two meals at the Victoria Inn, plus snacks and drinks - and pizza evening - at The Cabin. We were mostly unfortunate with the Peppercorn: they closed earlier than their signs said a couple of times, wouldn't provide a sandwich to take-away at 11 because they only serve breakfast until 1130, wouldn't do something else in the afternoon for some reason - counter staff seemed reluctant and a bit surly, although the lady who brought to our table was very pleasant.

Everything was just as we needed, and wanted. We felt welcomed, looked after, and we were well informed about the breakfast routine post-Covid. Always a cheery conversation with Christine and Charles who make and serve THE very best kind of breakfast. After our day out on Christmas Eve we came home to a presentation of sherry and mince pies. What a thoughtful surprise!!

Tips:

Considering it was the bleak mid-winter, we were thrilled with visits to St Michael’s Mount and the castle, Lands End and Port Isaac. I would highly recommend the cafes in each of these locations, especially the Methodist Chapel Cafe in Port Isaac. We stayed indoors playing card games at Ednovean Farm so that we could recoup energy (we are in varying stages of being in our 60’s!!) we had a lovely time!

4th April 2022:

Ednovean Farm is a hidden gem and well worth its five star rating. We stopped in the Blue Room and it was great. A large bed with a good mattress which meant both of us slept undisturbed each night. Plenty of room in the wardrobe and draws. The bathroom was also well appointed with both a roll top bath and a shower. The view from the room and south west facing patio includes looking out onto the amazing gardens, down on the village and across the bay with Mount St Michael in the foreground. Great sunsets in the evening. To be honest, Christine and Charles could probably sell tours of their gardens they are that impressive. The adjoining breakfast room is again tastefully decorated with lots of local art on display. The range, quality and quantity of breakfast fare is good and the preordering system (writing down what you’d like Charles to cook) means you get what you want at the time you want it. We were lucky to be the only guests so had more time to chat with Christine who was a very welcoming host. She had lots of local advice and even took some pictures of us in the gardens before we were collected by the amazing Alan from West Cornwall wedding cars, ahead of our ceremony in Penzance. It is important to stick to the arrival times as the hosts are also working with the horses in the stables.

Tips:

Be careful on the short track from the road to the farm if you have a low clearance vehicle. There maybe occasions when the WiFi signal is week. It’s only a short journey to St Ives, Lands End, Mousehole, Sennon Cove etc or you can walk to Marazion. Even in March we had a wonderful week, without the crowds that you may expect in the more touristy areas in summer.

Tips:

Choose the blue room if you can because of its fantastic view. Victorian Inn serves excellent food. Sit on a bench in Marazion and watch the causeway to St Michael’s Mount slowly disappear/appear. Two good pubs in Goldsithny.

Charles and Christine are charming and helpful hosts with a wealth of local knowledge. Their web site is also a great source of info for outings. We love their gardens and the guest suites are great. We have stayed here three times now.

Tips:

We've found the hosts' tips very useful. Do book your tables in advance if eating at local restaurants. We love the Victoria Inn in Perranuthnoe, which is really excellent, and you can walk to it from the B&B in a few minutes. The chip shop in Rosudgeon is good too.

Tips:

Victoria Inn very good & convenient distance to walk. Also liked The Fire Engine Inn in Marazion - rather noisy but good food & wonderful position. Glendurgan Gardens worth seeing & anywhere in Helford Estuary - good place to explore if coming from London & before arriving at Ednovean. Zennor village & Gurnard’s Head well worth seeing

Gorgeous rooms, each with their own little sunny terrace. Private breakfast room. Big, beautifully kept grounds to relax in, with beautiful views. Christine and Charles were lovely, helpful and accommodating. Location is amazing- walking distance from cafes, a pub and a nice beach and well placed to explore other parts of Penzance.

Tips:

Victoria Inn, Mackerel Sky were our favourite meals. Philps/Aunty Mays for pastys. Beaches- head to the blog on the Ednovean farm website as lots of good recommendations there. We also enjoyed PorthKidney beach.

Christine and Charles were very welcoming and helpful hosts. Breakfast, served in a delightful garden room, was delicious. The gardens were superb. Every consideration was given to keeping us COVID safe.

Tips:

We ate at the Victoria Inn in the village, a few minutes walk from the farm, and at the Fire Engine in Marazion. Both venues provided excellent meals. The Godolphin Hotel in Marazion is worth a visit-cocktails highly recommended! There are many excellent walks locally-superb views from the coastal paths. We were introduced to Ednovean Farm via facebook and were lucky enough to be able to book a short break in June. Everything is well presented and generous, including the breakfast. You can see Saint Michael's Mount from the gardens and there is a very short walk to a quiet beach nearby. Ednovean is itself in a quiet location but within easy access to lots of places to visit in the surrounding area.

Tips:

At the moment restaurants and visits to places of interest have to be booked. Don't be afraid to turn up early, we found that early access to St.Michaels Mount and the Trebah Gardens was welcomed.

Christine and Charles are extremely hospitable and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable and safe within Covid restrictions. The garden looked amazing, the room and outside area was every bit as attractive as last time, and there was the addition of a private indoor breakfast room, which helped a great deal in windier weather!

Tips:

Local restaurants we found this time which we particularly enjoyed for dinner were The Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn (specialising in fish, of course) and The Square in Porthleven. We also took our bikes to Penrose (National Trust) and cycled the off-road track round the lake ending up at the sand bar with spectacular views. We also explored the coves on foot via the coastal path and enjoyed peace and quiet at Piskies Cove where swimming was easy. There are so many coves so follow Christine's guide and advice.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful accommodation and gardens, excellent views and perfect location. Breakfasts were amazing. Felt very safe with all of the Covid precautions taken. Thank you so much, we had a great little holiday away!

Tips:

Victoria Inn Pub (excellent food), walks along beach and SW Coast Path. Great views in both directions. Lunch at The Peppercorn Kitchen (I had a Sri Lankan vegetable curry, amazing!). Visit Cowhouse Gallery and the little shop next door! Beach cafe looked great but we never got around to trying it! Other places to eat: Two Fore Street, Mousehole (French style bistro serving seafood ) Gernard's Head (20mins from accommodation, in the moors. Incredible food. Highly recommend) Seadrift, Porthleven (I had a trio of Cornish Fish. Delicious! Lovely town to walk around the harbour, especially at sunset). Other places to visit/things to do: Battalic and Cape Cornwall (old mine workings, impressive! Beautiful countryside.) St Michael's Mount Cornwall Swimming Horses (riding for riders - I had the most amazing beach ride on Long Rock beach, highly recommend!) St Ives - we went on a wet day and it was nice for a walk around the beaches and harbour, as well as visiting the galleries. Lizard Point and Cadgwith - nice to visit.

Victoria Inn and Peppercorn Cafe in village are both excellent and can be reached easily on foot. Sheltered beach only 10 min walk away and coastal path both north and southwards. We visited the Minack Theatre, Porthleven, Mousewald, Newlyn and Penzance, as well as Marazion. Beautiful gardens at Trengwainton (NT) and Tremenheere Sculpture Garden. Kayaking at Hoxton Special at Longrock between Marazion and Penzance. Cycling a good way to get around, although hilly and paths not always provided. Roads reasonably quiet and driving courteous.

We came to this idyllic part of the Cornish coast to escape the stresses of Christmas, and find equilibrium once more. Our hosts, Charles and Christine Taylor were charming, warm and welcoming. The house was a cosy, creative nest - and our room packed with extra little personal touches which made our stay very memorable. The views over the garden and beyond to St Michaels Mount were tranquil and beautiful, even in the bleak midwinter! The breakfast was a veritable feast served in the gorgeous farmhouse which the Taylors have lovingly decorated. We had a lovely stay and will definitely return!

Tips:

We went to some amazing galleries and exhibitions including; Tate St Ives, Barbara Hepworth museum, Bernard Leach pottery studio, Newlyn Art Gallery, Penlee House Gallery and Mueum etc our advice is don’t try to park in St Ives, take the coastal train (park &ride) from Carbis Bay, its a lovely, hassle free way to get into St Ives. Eden project was great, we went on New Year’s Eve and it was deserted! Mousehole was a sweet little fishing village worth going to for a visit. The tin mines were also worth a look at. As far as food was concerned Rick Steins at Porthleven was yummy...early bird menu before 6.30pm makes it great value. The Kings Arms in Marazion was great and not too expensive.

The Farm is convenient to the beach, restaurants, walks, and all the sites of Cornwall. We spent 3 days as a base to explore and it was perfectly situated. We did look forward to coming back at the end of the day to this beautiful Inn. Highly, highly recommend!

Lovely house and garden, welcoming hosts, good breakfasts. Ideal spot for relaxing, walking and exploring. Great views, and location would also rate 5 if surface of access road was less bumpy!

Tips:

Victoria Inn serves excellent up-market food and real ales. For solid pub food try the Queens Arms at Breage. NT tin mines at Botallack (spectacular) and Levant are well worth visiting. Don't miss a show at the Minnack Theatre, need to book well in advance.

Very friendly, informal and relaxing stay. Very good atmosphere and good views. The Blue Room is the pick of the three rooms but all are nicely appointed and kept in good order. You very much feel that you are staying as a guest in their home. Breakfast is well presented and held in their kitchen around a single table, so makes a perfect ice-breaker with other guests who may be staying.

Tips:

Victoria Inn, just a few minutes away, is a very good eatery. The Mexican Inn in Long Rock is good too. Really enjoyed the resturant at the nearby excellent Tremenheere Scultpure Gardens. Other sites worth a visit are Cape Cornwall, the Levant tin mine museum (make sure to do the tour) Whilst there, take a cliff top walk to the iconic Botallack mine which is 1Km away. St Michaels Mount & St. Ives are worh a visit but get there early as both get very busy.

12th June 2018:

We loved staying at this haven of peace, tranquility and beauty. Our hosts, Christine and Graham, were very hospitable without being intrusive. The tray of freshly made tea and cake on arrival was a great touch to a lovely stay. Breakfast is one of the best quality ones we had on our trip; the locally smoked kippers are very good. The village is within a short walking distance and the views from there (also from the property) are superb. So many good restaurants are close by and we particularly enjoyed The Victoria Inn (a short walk through a field) in the village. Christine and Graham are keen gardeners and this shows with the most beautiful aspects to a romantic garden with little 'secret' corners. I recommend a stay at this period farm very highly.

Christine and Charles who own and run Endovean Farm are fantastic hosts, they just get everything done in a calm and positive way. What a great team! They looked after us so well that we wanted for nothing. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was a feast every day!

Tips:

Don't fill all your time with things to do, allow some time just to be at Endovean Farm and enjoy the amazing garden and views. The Victoria Inn is a short walk away and the food is fantastic, all served in a very relaxed atmosphere. If it rains, go see a film at the Newlyn Filmhouse, by far the best cinema experience we've ever had. Go to the Minack Theatre, even if there is no showing you can go in and enjoy being there in an amazing setting. Ednovean Farm is a Jewel ! The location is rural yet convenient with easy access to south west Cornwall and its beauty. The room (we had The Pink Room), the house and the gardens combine to give the feel of a homely oasis with unique decor and works of art adding to the ambience. Personal touches like coffee and cake on arrival and a sherry before bedtime make you feel special but it is the garden that is worthy of particular note, overlooking St. Michaels Mount. Christine and Charles are the most accommodating hosts and the communal breakfast, if you choose, is prepared where you sit with fellow guests. A very high standard all round and an experience not to be missed.

Tips:

The Victoria Inn is a short walk across a public footpath. The food and service is outstanding ! The walk along the coastal path to Marazion takes about one hour and is relatively flat with views across to St. Michaels Mount all the way. Ednovean was a haven of peace and tranquility. Our view of Mount St Michael was sublime and the garden a real surprise. Christine and Charles were charming and friendly hosts and so were Louis and Spud the resident cats. Feather pillows were heaven. Fresh produce at breakfast gave us a good start to a day of exploring beautiful Cornwall.

Tips:

The local Village pub across the field was nice, but stick to English food there - the Tortelini was overcooked and crowded with too many mismatched vegetables. Otherwise the steak my partner had was great. Saint Michael's Mount was well worth the crossing and the climb - would not recommend elderly people to do this - with a steep and uneven surface to the top. The collection and story of Mount St Michael is fascinating, excellent stained glass and small but historical Chapel. Great sea views. If you fancy a drive Polpero and Looe are magical - Disney could not make up a more quaint village than Polpero. For natural beauty the river Looe and the ancient forest on its banks is worth a walk - the village is also charming - great meal at Smugglers Cott, hearty generous portions - it also has a great history as it's name suggests. Excellent seafood soup. In Looe there is a great antique shop in the village and walk a short distance to see the working harbour. The Levant mine is worth the drive for coastal views and to learn the history of copper and tin mining in the region. Having national Trust membership is worth having as many of the sites are run by the National Trust. The stately homes recommended by the NT in Cornwall and in nearby Devon are worth a look on a rainy afternoon. St Ives was a bit busy and overly commercial difficult to park - stop is worthwhile for the Barbara Hepworth Museum as the Tate is closed until autumn next year. Personally we found Penzance and Marazion far more atmospheric and just as Arts oriented without the parking hassle.

Charles and Christine are superb hosts, always cheery, helpfull and will to go the "extra mile" to ensure your stay with them is as perfect as you could wish. Don't be put off by the short bumpy and narrow access lane, the farm, its gardens and flora are well worth the visit and exploring.

Tips:

Cornwall is a great county to explore and Mounts bays has everything, whether it be walking, exploring or simply relaxing on the glorius beaches or back at the farm.

Christine and Charles are excellent hosts, their knowledge of the local area is immense. They serve a great breakfast and all guests eat together - sharing the days plans and previous adventures. It is a very happy and comfortable place to stay.

Tips:

The Victoria Inn is a 5-10 minute walk and the friendly staff serve delicious food. It is an easy walk along the coastal path to the fascinating St Michaels Mount, sadly not enough time to walk the other way. It was also easy to visit Mousehole, Minack Theatre, and Cape Cornwall during the two days that we were there. Next time we will be staying longer.

Christine and Charles are delightful hosts and live in a beautiful part of the world. They have a gorgeous home and garden.

Tips:

Perranuthnoe is a delightful village to explore. The Village pub has wonderful food within 10mins walk. I also enjoyed the Cabin Cafe by the South Coastal walk path. I didn't have a car so used the local bus into Penzance and onward from there visiting Mousehole, Porthcurno and the Minack Theatre. One day I walked into Marazion via the coastal path to see St Michaels Mount. That was fabulous.

Christine and Charles made us very welcome and served excellent breakfasts every day. The gardens are fabulous with wonderful views and the accommodation is just lovely.

We stayed for seven nights in the pink room and were made to feel very welcome by Christine and Charles, in their lovely home. We found the advice and information they gave about the local area invaluable, which made our first visit to Cornwall even more enjoyable. Meeting the other guests around the breakfast table and sharing tips and ideas on what to visit and where to eat, was also a bonus. During our stay we were able to come and go as we pleased, use the guests lounge and share the use of the beautiful gardens. The wifi was good and if you needed anything you only had to ask. We would happily visit again. Thanks. Linda & Steve.

Tips:

The Victoria Inn, a short walk from the B & B, and The Taj Mahal restuarant in Penzance both had excellent food. Christine is extremely knowledgeable about the whole area, including planning lovely walks and where to park off the beaten track, so ask her for advice. Read Christine's blog on the Ednovean Farm webside for extra information, if you want to get a feel for the area before your stay.
