Very convenient location just outside the town centre with benefit of on street parking although the sap & birds in the trees does mean the car will need good wash!! Very attentive hosts and excellent continental breakfast.

Would recommend The Navy pub nearby for excellent food at very reasonable price and the beer was good as well

In busy periods I would recommend that people book restaurants in advance. I saw many people turned away in Penzance, St Ives & Mousehole.

13th May 2023:

I stayed four nights at The Tremont in room #10, the single room with skylight. The decor was cheery and airy. The room was warm, bright, quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing. I loved my stay. It was quickly evident that Mary is the face of Tremont and its heart and soul. She was helpful when I needed travel advice and information, and when I got drenched in not one but two rain storms, Mary took my wet clothes and shoes and dried everything for me. Steve, on the other hand, was the behind-the-scene guy. When I arrived with a broken luggage handle, Steve expertly and kindly fixed it for me. I have never experienced such dedication to customer service and genuine care and attention. Thanks to Mary and Steve, I had a most memorable stay in Penzance and I hope to return one day to stay with them again.

Do the Land's End Coaster, the HOHO open top double decker bus that does a loop from Penzance to Land's End, St. Ives, St Michael's Mount and back to Penzance.

We had a lovely stay at The Tremont. A very warm and friendly welcome. Mary was a superb host, providing a fantastic breakfast .Great location for catching up with family and within walking distance of the prom, town and transport.

Only few mins walk to the prom for an evening stroll . About 20 mins walk to Penzance train/ bus station and coastal walk. All enjoyed on our visit.

The Tremont Guest House is absolutely fantastic, great location, placed near the Promenade, city centre, all shops and restaurants, train and bus station and Penzance Harbour for onward travel, very clean and what you need for a great stay, Mary is just perfect hostess, so friendly and helpful, she makes you feel really at home, she gave us a lot of useful tips and suggestions and always happy to assist or answer all your questions. I highly recommend Tremont for your stay in Penzance, we loved it!

Penzance is a lovely Cornwall town, small but welcoming, we had the best Indian take away we ever tried so far from Curry Corner, freshly cooked food tasting really great and although it took around an hour, it was worth the wait. The best time we had however was in St. Ives as the sea and the sandy beaches are just amazing!

Admiral Benbow is the quintessential English pub. We also had a wonderful dinner at The Dolphin. Both are walking distance from The Tremont Hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at The Tremont, and very welcoming hosts in Mary & Steve. It was nice to come to breakfast and have a little chat with some of the other guests. If we come back to sunny Penzance we will stay at The Tremont again. And thanks to Mary for her tips of both cornish icecream and pasty, among other things.

Use tha Land Coaster and get to see a lot of nice places, and good shoes so you can walk.

The hosts make your stay a delight, warm and friendly creating a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spotless, beds are comfortable ensuring perfect sleep. The Continental breakfast sets you up for the day. Fruit salad is scrumptious and the croissant a naughty but not to miss treat. The Tremont is a gem that we will be visiting again.

A perfect spot to stay while exploring the Penwith peninsula. A short walk to Penzance upgraded Promenade. Lots of places to eat including The Dolphin, and Frasers Fish and Chips. A short stroll to Penlee Park and Penlee House Museum, art, and wonderful food in the cafe. The open-top bus to St Ives via Lands End is a real joy. Sennen is glorious.

Never before have we had such friendly service, as the one offered by Mary and Steve, who were kind enough to accommodate a number of changes to our plans at short notice. We loved our stay here and we plan on returning to The Tremont. Overall, this was really good value for money. We cannot thank Mary and Steve enough for their outstanding customer service, hospitality and friendliness.

Mackerel Sky Bar - best food we've had in Cornwall If you have a car - consider going to Tintagel and Port Isaac (on the way back from Tintagel) Visit St. Ives and have some fresh pasties from there. Make sure to visit the Minack theatre and Land's end. St. Michael's Mount is amazing - plan it so that you get to walk on the causeway.

The standards of their services are extremely high, the location is fantastic, the cleaning standards are high, the accommodation is very comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and Mery was always at hand when we requested information or to help with anything. They are absolutely generous in every sense, made our stay absolutely relaxing and pleasant and we are short of words to express our gratitude for all their kindness with us while we stayed with them. If you are looking for a place to stay in West Cornwall, look no further: Tremont is the place to be, unless you are after cold and impersonal service. Prices are more than fair, Mary (the hostess) is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met and she will go above and beyond to make your stay nothing short of comfortable and memorable. Steve, her husband, is all right (I’m only joking, he is also lovely 🥰). Both of them can share amazing stories about traveling and about Penzance and Cornwall itself, which I could always hear a bit more about. They will care for the little details that make the difference, whether it is your favourite tea, an umbrella on a rainy day or a well packed to go breakfast when you are headed early to start your day. I was concerned about traveling during Covid times but they are upstanding on precautions: masks were worn all the time, social distance respected and rooms, of course, clean daily. Every room has its own toilet and shower room. I’ve been in one of the single rooms offered, the top one and the window over my bed allowed the views of Penzance night sky, which made for a great sight before falling asleep. Besides the premises, West Cornwall is a place that will catch your eyes: beaches like St Yves and Porthcurno and loads of green landscapes, the pools in Penzance and Mousehole and, if you have the time, a trip to the Isles of Scilly are among the must see attractions, along with Mt St Michael, a tidal island, that is just a short walk from Tremont. But my favourite place was really Sennen Cove: I won’t try to explain, you must see for yourself! Thanks Mary & Steve for making my first holiday after the pandemic such a memorable one!

Fantastic. Mary is the star of the show. She greets you at the door and makes you feel at home. We stayed in the large Double room on the first floor with a bay window overlooking the tree lined road. The bed was so comfy we had a hard time leaving some mornings and it was always newly made with clean sheets when we came back which is exactly what you want on an adventure holiday. Hotel is located just at the end of the promenade so its a nice walk into town.

its all good. get talking to some locals about places to go, the Cornish are lovely people and only pretend to not like tourists.

Mary and steve were perfect hosts and made us very welcome serving up a lovely varied breakfast without the usual greasy fry ups. Nothing was to much trouble. We had a great time at Tremont hotel. It has been 6 months since we are again able to travel since the COVID-19 pandemic and this is definitely our best travelling choice this year. All the safety measures have been put in place inside the hotel to keep the guests safe. The room is very cosy, clean and quiet which are all we need after a whole day outside. The hotel is within a walking distance to town centre and train station with lots of good restaurants around. As we didn’t have enough time to have breakfast at the hotel, Mary and Steve were kind enough to pack the breakfasts for us which made us feel like we got meal packs from our mother every day. We will definitely recommend Tremont to anyone who are visiting Penzance. If I have a chance to come back to Cornwall I will certainly stay at Tremont hotel again! This is our second stay with Mary & Steve a year on from them taking over this establishment. A warm welcome, quality clean rooms, great breakfast with a nice selection and always a big smile.

Located on Alexander Terrace it is a shot walk to the promenade, where I like to go to swim in the sea. From there you can walk to Penzance docks and town center, go over to Newlyn or even Mousehole. Plenty of selection for eating nearby from fish & ships, pub grub or nice restaurants. If you want to drive then there is all of West Cornwall to explore with is coves, beaches, costal walks & gardens.

I received the warmest welcome from Mary & Steve. After walking the coast path all day from Porthcurno and trudging the streets of Penzance I fancied a well earnt drink,so asked about the nearest shop. Mary & Steve showed further kindness by giving me a few cans to save me going out. Steve takes great pride over his breakfast,sourced from local providers it was delicious. Setting upon my way again I felt genuinely well looked after by genuinely nice people prepared to take the time to chat and be friendly. I would stay here again no doubt and fully recommend The Tremont

Cornish Hen delicatessen make great sandwiches, well worth a visit.
