Very comfortable bed and superb quality linen and towels. Breakfast was very delicious and healthy. Nothing was too much trouble with Clare and her team. Very clean rooms and home with a lovely welcome from Clare’s dogs. So many great places to visit and eat out within walking distance of Elmsdale Guest House or a bus/taxi ride away. Highly recommended a stay here.. we will be back.

The link provided by Clare to local restaurants is brilliant but Mackerel Sky, and The Fisherman’s Arms in Newlyn deserve special mention. Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens are also worth a visit with lunch at their Kitchen a must.

Absolutely fabulous stay again at Elmsdale Guest House, we stayed there for a yoga retreat which is run by the guest house owner for 4 days. Absolutely would recommend to anyone considering travelling near or to Penzance. Rooms are immaculate and every detail thought of, breakfast is a feast for the eyes! No negatives, will be back for a 4th stay!

So much to see and do…..excellent recommendations from Clare the owner on where to eat, St Michaels mount and Newlyn are very close by. The jubilee pool, coastal path and Mousehole are all very good visits.

The Thai restaurant at the end of the road is great for a family meal . They made us feel welcome with a 6 year old plus 6 month old baby!

My wife and I stayed at Elmsdale guest house for 4 nights. Its location is just some 5 minutes walk to the seafront. Our room had a very comfortable super-king sized bed. The en-suite facilities made good use of the confined space available. The guest house was very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our freshly made breakfast. Clare has a lovely personality and was inclusive with all her customers. On reporting a drainage issue this was dealt with promptly and Clare was able to accommodate a slightly later check out time on our day of departure.

Fantastic stay at Elmsdale Guest House, a repeat one! Breakfast is wonderful and healthy and the coffee is great. Lovely light and airy room, immaculately clean and tidy with a very warm welcome from Clare. Would highly recommend a stay here as very close to all Penzance has to offer.

A visit to Mackerel Sky in Newlyn, 2 Fore Street in Mousehole and 45 Queen Street in Penzance are a must. The walk from Penzance to St Michaels Mount, along with a stop off at The Godolphin to refuel!

Gorgeous Gwithian loft suite! Fabulously furnished with great light. Location of guest house is perfect - in leafy road with parking outside in central Penzance. Breakfast was delicious in the lovely dining room and we were brilliantly looked after by both Clare and Penny. We only stayed in the Gwithian suite for one night, sadly, en route home, but we shall be back! Thank you for making us so very welcome. 🙏😊👏

What a fantastic place to stay! Everything was just perfect, amazing value, great communication from Clare, super clean rooms, the best breakfast ever and just all round, lovely attention to detail, which made our short stay really memorable. We will definitely be back to stay at Elmsdale in the future.

The Jubilee outdoor pool on the seafront looks amazing. Only 20 minutes from Elmsdale, along the promenade and has a geothermal saltewater pool. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to try it out but that's fine as it gives us an excuse to return to Elmsdale.

Penlee House is worth a visit, food excellent. Local Pubs & restaurants are of a general high standard & a matter of personal choice really. Plenty to see & do with plenty of guidance from leaflets in the rooms.

I stay at B&Bs quite often and the Elmsdale stands out head and shoulders above them all.The most important thing is a comfy bed and pillows which is actually quite hard to find, but everything at the Elmsdale was super comfortable and cosy. The attention to detail is amazing, they had thought of absolutely everything and Claire is the most welcoming host. Breakfast was also very good, with a great selection and in a gorgeous Victorian dining room. I HIGHLY recommend staying here the next time you're in Penzance. Thank you Claire :)

The Elmdale is a great location for both the Town and the beach which is very handy, it's also a short walk to the fishing town Newlyn. Food wise I highly recommend the Honey Pot during the day, everything there is so well put together and my new fave for dinner is The Crumb, it looks like an amazing cocktail bar which it is, but they do the most amazing food for dinner.

This is a very good guest house. We have stayed there three times this year. Clare the host is very welcoming and friendly. When we are in West Cornwall next we will definitely stay at the Elmsdale guest house again.

Penzance is an excellent transport hub for anyone walking the South West Coast path in West Cornwall. The Elmsdale guest house is an ideal place to stay for walkers. We have only eaten out at ‘the Navy Inn and the Dolphin’ both are good.

I stayed in September for 3 nights Very comfortable and clean, attention to detail superb. Little touches in the room make the stay extra enjoyable. such as lovely soft towels, fresh milk in a little fridge, lots of tea/coffee and even organic Cornish toiletries. Made to order breakfast expertly cooked. Request for a take out breakfast was no problem for the day I had to leave early. All in all Clare takes great effort to make you stay extra special. Highly recommended.

Good food at the Old Bakery in Chapel Street, friendly staff but extremely noisy as much of the clearing up/washing of cutlery takes place in the room where you are dining. Minack Theatre is an essential place to visit - wonderfully open air creative performances in all weathers!

We were taken by a taxi driver to this lovely B&B as our flight was cancelled and we needed somewhere for the night.The host was very welcomeing and was able to accommodate us.The rooms was very clean and beautifully. Our host went out of her way to cook us breakfast in the morning even though our request was out of breakfast hours.I highly recommend this B&B and I'll definitely stay here again.

The beach and high street are just down the road,about five minutes walk and there is a very good fish and chips shop.

Wonderful position , beautiful dwelling with stunning ambience and a very lovely and kind owner who makes your stay a very special and joyous occasion together with providing the most gorgeous breakfast all served in The pretty striped Cornishware 💙🤍 ; and if you are very lucky you maybe introduced to Clare’s very very loved fur babies 🐾 Our room was spotless , everything thoughtfully provided , sumptuous white fluffy towels and the most comfortable of beds and luxurious bed linen that for us after crazy days of house moving my parents locally …..it was heaven to return to ….. and for our dog to who had a bed , fluffy blanket and bowl thoughtfully provided for. In fact we can’t wait to return in a month or 2 ….. or maybe even move in permanently 💗

Had very little social time but do recommend Frasers fish and chips and Reef n Beef on the Prom to sit and watch the sun go down and eat scrummy naughtiness 😄

Since taking over Elmsdale Clare has fully redecorated the property and made a number of alterations which have further enhanced this elegant building. She is a very friendly and oblliging host. Everywhere is scrupulously clean and breakfast is excellent. The availability of fresh milk for the rooms to make tea and coffee is a very welcome additional service.

The parks of Penzance are worth wandering through as they are beautifully kept and contain plants not seen in most other parts of the UK. The village of Mousehole is charming and well worth a visit - it is within walking distance for more active visitors.

Clare is a lovely host, nothing is too much trouble for her guests. Did have a problem opening the safe lock to get in but that was me not having used one before. Would happily stay there again

Nice walk along the seafront either to penzance or to Newlyn. Recommend frasers fish and chips also the pirates rest though keep your eye on the seagulls. A trip to the isles of scilly on the scillonian is always a good one in hot weather.

A beautiful and cosy place! Peaceful location next to the waters of Penzance, we really enjoyed our stay at Elmsdale. Clare was incredibly welcoming and the breakfast was just what we needed before climbing along the cliffs! Would recommend to other travellers. Thank you!!

The elmsdale was just a 15 minute walk from train station. It was spotlessly clean and Clare was fantastic host. Breakfast was delicious. We stayed on 2 separate nights whilst doing part of coastal path at the start and the end. And her scones and tea were a much needed treat at the end of our walk

Elmsdale is a lovely comfortable guest house. Facilities were very good and the room was very clean. Clare the landlady is very friendly, helpful and efficent. Plus she does an excellent early morning breakfast at 7am which helped us on our way. We would certainly stay at Elmsdale again.

We enjoyed our stay with you, very helpful and friendly, the cream tea on arrival is such a thoughtful gesture, the communication right from first booking was great, especially the email giving directions. The beds were super comfy. It was lovely having fresh milk in the fridge. The breakfast was lovely and tasty, only thing we didn’t like was the pre ordering, but understand why you do it. The shower in our room did not have a lot of pressure and the cubicle could do with some attention. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We didn’t find many restaurants or pubs in Penzance that we thought looked inviting luckily though we found The Lugger Inn on the promenade on our first day and that became our “local” for our time there. Friendly staff and really good pizzas and steaks. A visit to Polgoon Vineyard is a good day out for a wine tour and tasting. The lunch was really nice too.

We had an overnight stay as we were delayed at lands end airport, Clare was very welcoming on our arrival, we had to leave at 7am and offered to pack a breakfast for us to take with us. The room was very pretty and clean. Would stay again.

Had a lovely stay here! Claire is very welcoming and has a beautiful guest house. Lots of nice personal touches and the decor is lovely. The rooms and dining room are really clean, the bed super comfortable! We were greeted with the offer of warm scones and tea. The breakfast was lovely as well with plenty of healthy options!

After our flight to the Isles of Scilly was grounded by fog, finding Elmsdale was a godsend! We couldn’t have wished for a better place. Clare greeted us very warmly with a cream tea! She is a super hostess!

Very enjoyable and peaceful stay. The guest house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. This place is run by very kind people. I’ll stay there again and I would recommend this guest house to people visiting Penzance.

The guest house is 10 minute walk from town and to the seafront. There are a variety of local restaurants in town all at reasonable prices.

Our trip to Cornwall did not disappoint. Elmsdale and the lovely Clare were fantastic. The guest house is in a perfect location, close to the sea and a great base to visit all the local points of interests and walks. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided in the room. Friendly, comfortable accommodation. Bathroom a little bit cramped. Parking a bit difficult but we did find a space in the next road. The smoke detector was immediately above the bed head and was a little disturbing.

Penzance has lots to offer, and other towns are nearby such as Mousehole and Newlyn. The coastal paths are lovely and St Michaels Mount is worth visiting.

Absolutely loved our stay at Elmsdale. We stayed in The Loft Suite... so spacious and comfortable. Scones, jam and cream on arrival is a lovely touch along with tea/coffee and cold water in the room. Room and guest house are immaculately clean. The bed is super comfy and we were made to feel so at home by Clare. The breakfast was delicious... homemade granola a treat each morning of our stay. Brilliant location to explore Penzance by foot and easy to get to other beaches and towns with an easy link up to the A30. Amazing restaurants too.. loved Cornwall. Thank you so much Clare Absolutely loved our stay and we will be back!

A trip to Lands End is a must... St Ives is beautiful but busy... Park and ride is very good there and only £2 for the bus. 2 Fore Street in Mousehill for lunch (or super) was delicious. Mackerel Sky Seafood Bar in Newlyn was amazing and worth the queue to wait for a table, highly recommended.

We had a fabulous stay at Elmsdale Guest House. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with beautiful bed linen and soft white towels. We loved the decor and the cream tea when we arrived was a wonderful surprise and very thoughtful touch. Breakfast was perfect too. Our two night stay really recharged our batteries. Thank you so much for your hospitality Clare.

We visited to go on the Penzance Marine Discovery trip as a birthday present which was wonderful. We were very excited to see the common dolphins and also grey seals. Also spent an afternoon at Botallack exploring Cornwall's mining heritage. Had a very enjoyable meal at The Deli in Mousehole.

Lovely stay , very clean super breakfast. Clare was a lovely host who is obliviously passionate about her B&B which comes through in all the little touches like the cream team that awaites you in your room on arrival.

Our stay was just 2 days as we had booked the Marine Discovery trip to go Dolphin & Whale watching, I highly recommend the company running it they were very mindful of the wildlife. Newlyn (about a 20 min walk) was pretty. If your looking for sandy beaches you won't get one in Penzance, But there are some lovely restaurants

A very comfortable, stylishly furnished accommodation. The hostess was very nice and served a rich, delicious breakfast in the room every morning. The kitchenette and large refrigerator are also practical. The location is very quiet and still an ideal starting point for exploring Penzance and the surrounding area.

An example of the perfect guest house! The rooms are wonderfully relaxing, beautifully decorated and spotless. Nothing is too much trouble for Clare, even bringing our superb breakfast feast up to the loft room, which is a little apartment in itself. Clare was very warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The cream tea upon arrival was unexpected and highly appreciated. The quality of the breakfast was very good and varied. The room was spacious, well presented and had a very comfortable bed.

We would highly recommend the Singing Rooster restaurant (10 minute walk away) and the Pirates Rest chippy - also about 10 minute walk. A 'must' for all visitors is to book a 'wildlife boat trip' with the Mermaid (located next to the swing bridge at the harbour). We saw seals, tuna and dolphins - which was fantastic and the crew of Adrian and Martin was entertaining and informative.

Beautiful guesthouse in perfect location. Bedrooms are spacious, the lofts suite is great if you like more room to spread out. Breakfast is awesome with lots of choice for all foodies/food types. Clare is the perfect host with great recommendations where to go , what to see. Will definitely return to explore more. Lots to do and see all very near by.

Good restaurants visited in Penzance were Blacks and Artists Residence in Chapel Street. St Michaels Mount - Marazion - a Must Tolcarne Inn - Newlyn - very good food Rockpool Cafe - Mousehole - the best crab sandwiches!
