Definitely the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in. The cottage is extremely well set up. Everything you could want when away from home. Beautiful location. Lovely grounds.

Tips:

Thoroughly recommend the Dog & Rabbit for coffee or lunch in St Just. Also the Kurt Jackson gallery is well worth a visit.

19th September 2021:

The cottage provided us with everything we needed for our stay and was ideal for my mother who has limited mobility as it is all one level once in the cottage. Nick and Rachel were very welcoming, letting us know that they were close at hand should we need anything but otherwise left us to it

Tips:

So much to do, so little time Thoroughly enjoyed the Minack theatre, the Jubilee Lido and the Marine Discovery trip on the catamaran. Due to the ongoing problems with Covid, it is advisable to book well in advance for restaurants and trips but then again a good walk along the coastal path with a picnic is a win, win, win

Such a peaceful, beautiful setting. Delicious cake on arrival thanks. We found the place through a friend recommending who had stayed previously.

Tips:

Sennen cove sunset Mousehole in the evening very pretty with the lights Lamorna Cove in the day when the tide is out revealing the beach. Coastal walk from Lamorna to Mousehole Pasties from the cafe in Mousehole If doing Lands End go early to avoid the crowds- we went round 930am. And can bypass all the touristy attractions if not interested. Same with St Ives. Go early. Get a train in or a taxi. St Michael's Mount Minack theatre and the beach Longrock beach for a big dog friendly beach nearby

22nd August 2021:

Castallack Farm is such a wonderful farm in a breathtakingly beautiful part of Cornwall. The first time we saw Lamorna Cove as we walked down the hill it took our breath away. Just stunning. Trevean is in a calm and peaceful location tucked away in beautiful countryside. The house is very well equipped with super comfortable beds and cosy living room. We loved all the walks from the doorstep and appreciated the folder full of local tips. The delicious cake waiting for us when we arrived was such a welcome surprise too. Thank you Nick and Rachel for making our stay so nice.

Tips:

We loved walking to Lamorna Pottery for a cuppa and early morning walks to Lamorna Cove and Mousehole. As we visited during the height of summer we found that the local beaches were very busy but enjoyed visiting them after 6pm when most had gone home and parking was free - especially at Porthcurno. We’d also recommend visiting St Ives early in the morning to avoid the crowds as it was incredibly busy. The ice cream hut, Moomaid in the Field, on the B3306 road from St Ives to St Just is a really lovely pit stop. We loved Tremenheere Sculpture Garden near Penzance for super views over to St Michael’s Mount and Trebah Garden on the River Helford Estuary. What amazing flowers!

We've stayed here quite a few times now and each time we are delighted with how clean, tidy and well equipped the cottage is. Perfect for our dog with the private garden and Nick and Rachel are great hosts. The lemon cake left for us on arrival is a great way to start the holiday! Enjoy seeing the farm animals and giving the pigs a scratch!

Tips:

Sennen beach cafe for an evening drink with fantastic sunset over the sea. Cape Cornwall for fantastic wildlife including Choughs and Seals. Lewis's Fish and Chips in Newlyn and Moomaid ice cream parlour in St Just.

Trevean is a great cottage for two adults or a small family - comfortable and with a great garden to use. The bets feature however is this position. The far west of Cornwall is absolutely delightful and this is a fine place to stay to see and experience it.

Tips:

There's so much to see. The coastal path, Lamorna Cove, Mousehole, Porthcurno, Porthgwarra, Gwennap Head, Lands End, Cape Cornwall, the Botallack mine, Zennor, St Ives, the Lizard Peninsula, St Michael's Mount...

Nick and Rachel are very friendly and engaging. The location is ideal for many activities locally or just peace and quiet in the privacy of the cottage and surroundings. The cottage is equipped with all that you need and a robust and fast WiFi connection to keep in touch with others and gets a lot of sun throughout the day.

Tips:

Thai Moon in Penzance, the takeaway Bo Thai near the turn off for Lamorna Cove, Swimming with Horses near Marazion was an enjoyable experience. Lots of local walks along the coast in each direction from Lamorna Cove.

Very friendly & helpful which in many ways mirrors the location! Virtually traffic free !

Tips:

Visited when we were not totally out of COVID Lockdown. Kings Arms in Paul is great as is the Fish n chip shop in Marazion which is just yards from the beach and looks directly out at St Michaels mount . They also do do excellent ice creams !. Perfect. Unfortunately some pubs / restaurants were not open due to staffing issues around COVID and general workforce shortages.

Every thing you need is provided in the cottage. Home from home. So Clean ! like moving in to a new home. You don’t feel like their guests. More like neighbours and the best neighbours that give you all the privacy and support you need. Not as thou we needed any. Nick and Rachel are a Email away to answer any issue and as prompt as a text away. You have off road parking even a private garden complete with fire pit and picnic benches. A great welcome awaits you with a excellent cake. Some nice local walks that pass the cottage. Short drive away from Newlyn and every shop you need for a self catering holiday.

Tips:

Plan your days and trips out catering for any change in weather we had two days of Sun but we loved every minute of it. Cornwall has everything you could want and more you just have to research before you go. Everything can be reached by car in half an hour. We Just Needed another two weeks to fit it all in.

Lamorna might well have been a departure many centuries ago for getting to Northern Spain for onwards to Santiago de Compostela. The cottages have both got routers of their own now which makes for better WiFi but we cannot get fibre or high speed here so 6-8mbps is about the best we receive. Easily good enough for e-malis & web browsing but not for streaming. Mobile signal is again beyond our control but it is possible albeit with a bit of searching.

25th July 2020:

We have mainly spent our holidays in self catering cottages in Cornwall for the last 32 years and have always been so fortunate to have chosen beautiful accommodation at a lovely standard in all ways. However, Tremerth Cottage and it’s surroundings at Castallack beat them all and literally took our breath away. For peace and quiet and relaxation, both inside the cottage and in its grounds, it can’t be beaten. It’s close location by car to so many pretty harbours and coves leaves you spoilt for choice. And as for the decor, furnishings, equipment, etc., in Tremerth Cottage, it is excellent, homely, cosy, and everything you need, even down to a bottle of prosecco in the fridge. We’ll definitely be back - probably as soon as next year.

Tips:

Unless keen walkers, you will need a car but having said that, your drives can be extremely short with so many enticing coves and harbours only ten to fifteen minutes away. We went out every day in our car and only spent a total of £15.40 on petrol in the seven days there! Nature abounds around the cottage so ideal for photographers and artists.

Castalack farm is a gold standard in hospitality conveyed with true safety , quality and especially comfort -arriving to the most considered of welcomes, everything is in place to ensure your privacy and safety -the house was immaculate, ensuring we did not become compromised in any way, but to just enjoy the beauty and comfort of our stay -honestly it is not possible to convey the absolute charm and relaxation we were grateful to have experienced -we are grateful to Rachel and Nick for the complete dedication to ensure their guests are feeling relaxed and safe during their stay ......

Tips:

What ever you do ,take a walk along the cliffs from Porthgwarra to lands end, here is contained all the history and beauty that is magical about West Penwith, and swim in the quiet waters on Perranuthnoe-----fish and chips in Marazion, --but you cannot leave without being seduced by homemade ice-cream, topped with clotted cream, and of course, embellished with a flake from Jelberts in Newlyn -older and more unique than all mankind ... now thats living ...

Tips:

Take walk down the side of the cottages into the Lamorna valley. Grab a coffee in the Pottery. Then onto the Wink in the valley. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely, well equipped, warm and cosy. It is quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed the lemon drizzle cake and fresh flowers that welcomed us when we arrived. There is interesting wild life in the area.

Tips:

The coastal walk from Porthgwarra is beautiful, also Treen to Porthcurno. Porthcurno is stunning although dogs aren’t allowed on the beach during a summer seasonal ban. Cape Cornwall is an unspoilt National Trust area.

A truly lovely cottage and wonderful owners. The cottage had everything we needed, the outside space was perfect for our dog and the location was beautiful. We didn’t want to be in a town centre, and waking up every day with those views was perfect.

23rd August 2015:

Lovely to be welcomed personally and the tea and homemade cake was much appreciated.

Tips:

Lamorna Wink well worth a visit. Avoid Gino's Spaghetti House, next to the Queen's Hotel in Penzance at all costs. National Trust Penrose, near Helston offers lovely walks but not well signed.

Very friendly hosts. An ideal location for exploring the west with so many laces within easy reach.

Tips:

Day trips to the Isles of Scilly, Treingwainton Gardens and Cafe are excellent. Perranuthnoe and Porthleven are interesting to visit both with excellent eateries.St Ives is within easy reach and we would recommend using the Park and Ride facility.

31st May 2015:

Lovely place with a friendly reception and beautiful views.

Tips:

Walking around the area is fabulous, although note the harbours at Lamorna, Penberth and Mousehole are no accessible to dogs at any time. Front Room cafe in Penzance is fabulous with very funky decor, great food and they allow dogs in the garden.

Wonderful stay - the hosts have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and to help you settle in. The cottages are well appointed with every conceivable aid to self catering living!

Tips:

Becks fish and chips on the road through Carbis Bay has a nice restaurant as well as takeaway facilities. Penzance is well provided for by three enormous supermarkets, Morrisons at Long Rock; Sainsburys and Tesco along the A30 route into town. Out towards Newlyn you will find a Co-Op and Lidl, but of course the fun is in finding local farm shops and produce. Trevaskis Farm shop out near Connor Downs is a magnificent example and has a restaurant attached, for superb breakfast, lunch or dinner!
